Ministry For Taxes And Levies: Exaction From Jews Who Survived Holocaust Are Legitimate

The Ministry for Taxes and Levies does not see any problems in "making money" on Belarusian Jews.

The Ministry for Taxes and Levies explained why the elderly Belarusian Jews must pay income tax for charitable assistance provided by international organizations on a non-refundable basis.

As the website of the Ministry for Taxes and Levies writes, the demand to pay the tax from such assistance is absolutely legal, but local administrations can exempt citizens from paying it. However, in such a case one should apply to the administration.

Thousands of Belarusian Jews who receive humanitarian aid from the American JDC (Joint), have recently received notices about the need to pay an income tax on the value of those charity services that were provided to them through the Hesed social welfare centers – JDC 's regional offices providing help to needy Jews.

Since they will have to pay the tax from their already meager pensions, many began to refuse such necessary at their age services as house cleaning, delivery of products, etc.
