Lukashenka Mansplains CEI Ministers

The dictator met with foreign ministers and heads of the Central European Initiative member countries’ national delegations.

"The foreign policy of our country has a multi-vector and peaceful nature. We are committed to building friendly, mutually beneficial relations with all states. It is equally important for our country to develop cooperation with the East and the West without making an artificial choice between them," – Lukashenka said.

However, the dictator noted, there are certain forces that do not abandon attempts to restore the "block policy of the past."

"As the representatives of the states of Central and Eastern Europe, we realize that it can have devastating and catastrophic consequences," – the ruler said.

"The existing realities are such that it is necessary for states, geographically locating between Europe and Asia, to take on more responsibility in the matter of ensuring regional stability, especially at times it doesn’t cost anything, because it depends on us whether our countries will become a dividing line between the world power centers, or their connecting link. Now it is time to build together the bridges between different integration structures on the continent, not new iron curtains," – Lukashenka is sure.

The truly Great Europe can only be created through equitable dialogue and full-fledged economic cooperation, guaranteeing the descendants peace, security and prosperity, the dictator said.

Lukashenka noted that from the very first days of its existence, the organization aims at developing mutually beneficial economic ties between the countries of Europe after the Cold War.

"At present this organization unites countries partaking in various integration associations and formats. We must use this factor in full. That is why Belarus' presidency is aimed at promoting connectivity in a Wider Europe, " – Lukashenka explained. – Being at the crossroads of Eurasia, our countries face similar difficulties in their social and economic development. At the same time, it opens up big opportunities for the expansion of trade and enhancement of ties in other areas."
