Where Should Lukashenka Run away?

The dictator was given a good piece of advice - to leave before it's too late.

But will he take advantage of this advice? Notorious Belarusian film director, author of Ordinary President film, Yury Khashchevatsky, stated that in the interview with Charter97.org.

- This week the Belarusian authorities have fallen on their face once again. They tried to collect taxes from humanitarian aid to citizens of Belarus who survived in the war and the Holocaust. What could you say about this fact despite assurances of the Ministry for Taxes and Duties (MTD) of distribution cancellation of new "letters of happiness"?

- This is all very logical within the framework of activity of the current Belarusian authorities. They can also take off gold crowns from people, as it was practiced in concentration camps during the war. They can cut off hair to use for anything.

Not only veterans, not only those who survived in the Holocaust, but in general all people are raw materials the authorities can milk to have a lush life in Drazdy. The man is raw materials needed for luxurious life of the authorities. That's what they do.

The other moment requires commenting - it was barely possible to protect these people from the tax authorities and make them step back a few years ago. And now we can do it!

I'd like to draw attention of my fellow citizens to the fact that if we take a stand and say "No" to the authorities, they will draw in their horns and step back.

And "No" command should be sound in the society. This caddish, hominivorous authority requires this public "No!" And it's high time to enchain this authority, because it has got us into the wilds. As well as itself, by the way. Because it has no money for anything anymore.

There is nothing surprising in milking of Holocaust survivors. If we do not resist, it will continue.

- You say that it's high time to enchain the dictatorship. Director of Amkodor Vasil Shlyndzikau has recently voiced a similar idea and stated that it's better for Lukashenka to resign on his own without following Ceausescu in footsteps. Do you agree with this?

- I know Vasil Shlyndzikau well, and I know well that this man is immensely humane. And this only confirms my good attitude towards him. Workers at Amkodor, perhaps, remember that he cared about them when he used to be director there. I think that he even cares about such a person as Lukashenka. I do not share his attitude, although I believe that Shlyndzikau's advice is wise.

I am a tougher person and I think that Lukashenka, unfortunately, will not take advantage of this wonderful advice.

Lukashenka perfectly understands that he cannot leave easily. It causes a lot of questions. and it is not about the crisis he's led the country to. It is about gone missing politicians, journalists, violations of the Constitution - these are grave crimes.

And I assure you that his involvement in these crimes to be proved, anyway.

All these issues have a criminal origin and Lukashenka will have to bear responsibility despite Shlyndzikau's humanity. And the escape destination is questionable. To Maduro? The situation there is complex. And the money should be kept in banks. In real Swiss banks. And they will found out the origin of this money. There is no place to hide for Lukashenka. There's one thing left - to come to Kalinouski Square, bring to his knees and ask for mercy. I do not know.
