14 Belarusian political prisoners-patriots continue to stay behind bars.

Former White Legion leader, political prisoner Miraslau Lazouski was transferred from the KGB pre-trial detention center to the pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Valadarski Street, representative of the "patriots’ case" defendants’ families Nina Shydlouskaya told Svaboda.

We remind that Lazouski was detained in the evening of March 21. On the same day and a few days later, more than two dozen people were detained, including Young Front members (have been released by the time of the publication) and members of the legal club Patriot.

Before his detention, Lazouski worked as an assistant to the director of the publishing house Knihazbor. In the early 1990s, he became one of the founders of the White Legion. White Legion members were active participants in all the rallies and processions in 1996-1999. The organization worked underground and stopped functioning in the early 2000s.

14 people, involved in the "patriots' case", remain behind the bars. Criminal cases for "training and preparing for participation in mass riots" and "creating an illegal armed formation" have been initiated against them. Human rights activists demand to release them immediately, as the detainees report about tortures, but the Prosecutor General's Office sees no grounds for a procuratorial inspection.

Lazouski 's bride Sviatlana was among those who reported about the tortures of the detainees. According to her, Miraslau was badly beaten during the arrest and was not allowed to see the lawyer during the first days of the investigation, although the interrogations continued, including at night.
