Lukashenka: We Were With Vietnamese Brothers In That War

The dictator told the President of Vietnam about the little-known "facts" regarding the time during and after the American-Vietnamese war.

Belarus hopes to develop political and trade-economic relations with Vietnam. Lukashenka said this today during talks with Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, BelTA informs.

"I think we do not need to tell what unites our peoples. Our countries have a great history of good relations. The Belarusian people have always been close to your people, especially in difficult periods of your history, – Lukashenka said. – Every Vietnamese remembers well the last war and the price, which your country had to pay for its independence and freedom. We know this and remember about this as well. That is because we were with you on the Vietnamese land at those days. And after this bitter war, we did our best to help our Vietnamese brothers to restore the country, the national economy, to bring life back to normal."

"We have always been and will be committed to such a relationship and a similar course. We look forward to the prospects of our relations, to trade between our countries, good political relations. You can always count on us," – Lukashenka stressed.
