In the evening of June 27, Siarhei Strybulski was released from the remand prison № 1. He was changed the measure of restraint on a written undertaking not to leave and behave properly.

Siarhei Strybulski, who was detained for "preparing mass riots" on March 21, was later additionally charged under Article 287 of the Criminal Code "creating of an illegal armed formation." On May 24, his period of detention was extended for two months, nn.by writes.

After the KGB closed the case under part 3 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code, he remained in custody under the second criminal case among 14 of its defendants.

Later, Viasna human rights defenders received confirmation of another detainee’s release – Aliaksandr Ziamnitski. The information on other persons who are being held in custody in the pre-trial detention centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the KGB is being determined.

It should be recalled that after there appeared the information about the tortures in the KGB pre-trial detention facility, Belarusian human rights organizations demanded to release from the custody all 14 defendants of the criminal case, pointing out that, according to the law, the evidence, obtained in violation of the law, does not have legal force, cannot be taken as the basis of the charge and cannot be used as evidence.
