Political Prisoner Siarhei Strybulski Released

Political Prisoner Siarhei Strybulski Released

13 patriots remain in the KGB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs pretrial detention centers.

In the evening of June 26, one of the patriots Siarhei Strybulski was released. The HRC Viasna reported tut.by about that.

According to human rights activists, the measure of restraint was changed for him on the recognizance not to leave. The charges against Strybulski were not lifted, he is still in the status of the accused under the article on the creation of an illegal armed group.

We remind that in late May, it became known that the period of the investigation and detention were extended for Siarhei Strybulski and other political prisoners.

In total, 35 people were initially involved in the "mass riots" case, 20 of them were also accused of creating an illegal armed formation (the KGB data as of April 11).

On June 16, it became known that the mass riots case was closed. The IC took up a criminal case against a number of persons accused of committing a crime under Art. 287 of the Criminal Code (creating of an illegal armed formation).

According to the latest information from human rights defenders, 13 persons remain in the KGB and MIA jails. Some of them were extended the period of investigation for 2-4 months.
