New Details About Minsker Who Cut His Throat Revealed

Journalists managed to find doctors who gave him first aid.

On July 7, an incident happened in Minsk on Kastrychnitskaya Square: a man cut his throat with a sharp object and tried to escape from the police. After that, he did pushups, squatted and danced – perhaps to speed up the blood flow.

However, police officers caught him and handed over to doctors.

Nasha Niva managed to find the doctors who handled the man that day.

"When the ambulance arrived, the riot policemen had already provided first aid to him - they had already put a bandage on the wound, – one of the doctors said. – The man was aggressive, behaved inadequately. We had to fix him with straps in the ambulance and we asked the police officers go with us. He shouted that we would not get him easily and something similar; he was swearing at us. He was covered with tattoos, which possibly were made in prison."

The doctor told us that the man did not smell of alcohol.

"More likely, he was on drugs. He actually cut his throat significantly – he started on the left side and cut the jugular vein. He cut it with a razor blade. He lost about a liter and a half of blood. If he had reached the artery, then no one could have helped him," – the doctor said.

As we learned, the ambulance took the man straight to the intensive care unit, where he got operated.

Hospital workers told us that the condition of the man was normal: "He's almost healthy." They also said that further he would probably get under the supervision of specialists of a different specialization.
