According to unconfirmed information, two welders were killed at the NPP construction site.

Astravets resident Danuta contacted Radio Svaboda and reported an emergency incident at the NPP construction site:

"The information is precise, two people have died. They were welding with a certain construction, an explosion occurred and both of them died. They are not from Astravets district, were detached. It is not known where they are from, since Hrodna, Vitsebsk, and Mahiliou residents are working, from all over Belarus. And a little earlier, a man died – a gas vessel exploded when a brigade was working, one man was injured."

And literally before that, according to the woman’s words, an assembly worker fell from the heights, and he was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state:

"On a recent day, an installer fell from a great height. It is also unlikely that he is going to survive, because, as they say, he’s got a lot of fractures, the internal organs are damaged. The ambulance took him away, but he was already unconscious. Now he is in the Astravets hospital, it is unknown whether he is alive or not. Doctors are unlikely to say the truth, because all of them have been overlaid with such control, that they will not utter a word."

The BelNPP information center stated to Svaboda’s correspondent that they do not have any data about emergency incidents. At the same time, they advised him to send a request with questions –the administration would consider them within a month.

Meanwhile, the Astravets central regional hospital doctor on duty in the reception room explained that he had no right to disseminate confidential information about patients.

There were several cases, when the BelNPP management first denied the deaths of workers at the construction site, but, after the media coverage, was still forced to admit them.
