Lukashenka: Bottlenecks Occur At Belarusian NPP

The dictator has told about his phobias related to the construction of the Astravets nuclear power plant.

Lukashenka called the construction of the belarusian NPP an important issue both from the economic and political point of view, as well as the moral one:

— It wasn’t an easy decision for us to build a nuclear power plant after the Chernobyl disaster. Phobias were very strong, but we managed to convince the population that the future belongs to it. This is first. Secondly, it is the highest technology. Along with space, IT-technologies, digital economy — they are the future — I put the construction of the nuclear power plant, — Lukashenka said. — We pay very close attention to the construction. It is enough to say that I am keenly aware of the plans and the process of this construction.

The Belarusian ruler noted that an assistant was recently appointed, who was responsible for the implementation of national projects.

— This is the national project level, alongside with the other projects that we are carrying out, there are about ten of them. These are very expensive projects. Therefore, we pay serious attention to this," — Lukashenka stressed.

According to Lukashenka, the construction of the NPP is also constantly discussed during his meetings with the Russian president.

— We discuss the construction of the nuclear power plant and closely monitor not only the progress of the construction, but also the price parameters. The Russian president is very interested in this issue, "— Lukashenka said. — Today's meeting is very important in order to once again discuss the construction of the nuclear power plant, eliminate some bottlenecks, which, naturally, with such huge construction projects take place. And a number of other issues that you think it is necessary to discuss and hear my answers to them.

The construction of the Belarusian NPP takes place in violation of all international norms, during construction there is a constant state of emergency.

The construction causes discontent among Belarusians, protest actions are held against the construction of the Astravets nuclear power plant.
