Almost 50 Thousand Belarusians Said "Good Bye" To Lukonomy

Official statistics cannot say where the population of a whole district center has gone.

This is evidenced by the Belstat data "On employment of the population in June 2017".

As stated in the document published yesterday, 4344.8 thousand people were employed in the economy of Belarus in June 2017.

At the same time, if you look at the data published a year ago, 4 391.1 thousand people were employed in the country's economy then. That is, by 46.3 thousand people more, thinktanks.by writes.

At the same time, according to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the number of registered unemployed was 34.2 thousand people as of the end of June 2017. And the level of registered unemployment was 0.8% of the work-force at the end of June 2017.

A year ago the picture was different: the number of registered unemployed was 47.2 thousand people, and the level of registered unemployment was 1.1% of the economically active population.

That is, there are less employed people in the economy, and the unemployment has declined. According to Belstat, the population of Belarus has decreased by 4,5 thousand people for the year. What happened to more than 40 thousand? It begs two main options: they retired or left abroad.
