Blue Lakes of the Lyuban District Given to the Egyptian

A foreign citizen leases chalk quarries near the Khotsinava village in the Lyuban district.

It was not allowed to swim there for many years, but people did. SB Belarus Segodnya learned about the future of quarries.

Hundreds of people arrive here to relax, although it is dangerous place to swim - the depth reaches 30 meters.

The history of a strange landscape with bright turquoise water began 20 years ago, when the Lyuban Building Materials Plant stopped lime mining there. Then the forest and water ponds were given to a local forestry which aimed to watch the order. The regional inspection of natural resources also provided assistance.

The main problem is that the water pond is not suitable for rest. There is no equipped beach, lifeguards. There are drop of depths and tempetatures, even in summer the water does not warm up more than two meters deep. 10 people have drowned in recent years.

Under the requisition of the authorities, there is installed a warning sign on the shore. Violators are often fined there. But human carelessness is limitless.

There is a lot of waste arround the quarry. Heaps of rubbish are waiting on you in the forest.

It seems that this will get off square one. The head of the regional inspection of natural resources and environmental protection Aliaksandr Malashuk shared the news: two months ago a private company OOO Pyramid-Group, registered in Urechye, received a lease of chalk quarries through an auction.

The main investor is a businessman from Egypt, whose name is not disclosed. Aliaksandr Aliaksandravich believes that this will benefit both the district and guests:

- Quarries are a great problem for us. Every year people drown or get injuries here. The garbage is not taken away. However, "Blue Lakes" have good prospects. For example, in the autumn military men from Asipovichy regularly come here for training. It is said that there is no more better place for diving in the country but this one. why don't us develop diving?

Minimum lease period is 5 years. They have the first-priority right to extend the lease. Natallia Ramenchik, Deputy Head of the Land Management Service of the Lyuban District Executive Committee, revealed plans of new owners:

- In the future they are going to build a recreation center on river banks: guest houses, a restaurant, a sauna, a camping. However, only water is rented. To obtain land, investors must prepare a special project and approve it in the regional executive committee.

Pyramid-Group confirms the information. It says that the work on rent of the land starts in the mid-August when a major investor arrives at place. So far, it is planned to stock the reservoir with fish. And this is just the beginning.

By the way, everyone will be able to swim there for free, but fishing will be paid.
