Lukashenka Is Afraid of Statkevich

On September 8 the Belarusians must defend themselves and the leader of the people's protests on Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk.

The authorities are afraid of the presence of Mikalai Statkevich on September 8 on Kastrychnitskaya Square. The leader of the Belarusian National Congress may be arrested on the eve of the Warning Action.

The Belarusian Social Democratic Party "People's Hramada" calls on the authorities to stop preventive arrests, and supporters of changes - to protect Mikalai Statkevich and other opposition activists. It is said in the statement published by Charter97.org:

- It became known that the leader of our party Mikalai Statkevich was sentenced to 15 days of arrest for the celebration of the anniversary of the liberation of Minsk from the Nazis on July 3 and a fine of $600 for laying flowers on the grave of Soviet soldiers who died during the liberation of our capital on May 8 at the Military Cemetery.

A few days earlier, his wife Maryna Adamovich was fined $500 for participation in the celebration on July 3 and an additional $300 for trying to participate in the action on March 25, dispersed by the authorities even before its commencement. Authorities continue the demolition procedure of the private house where Mikalai and Marina live.

The person who illegally runs our country for a long time is trying to break or destroy Mikalai Statkevich, or force him to leave the country. There have been attempts to kill him through auto-accident or poisoning, attempts at kidnapping, long terms of imprisonment, exorbitant monetary fines, loss of property and housing, a rabid slander company through official media and the Internet, pressure put on him through relatives, including an attempt on their life.

Associates of Mikalai Statkevich also faced repressions. Many of us went through jails and tortures. As a result of the tortures some of our activists suffered a significant harm to physical and mental health.

It is obvious that the supporter of Hitler in power perfectly feels the real threat to his illegal domination over the people comes from, who is able to lead the people's resistance to the internal occupation of the country. The person who can destroy the system of fear, lies and corruption created in 23 years and build a free, fair and rich Belarus.

The whole life of Mikalai Statkevich shows that he is able to lead Belarus and make it out from the pit the uncontrolled power has brought it into. True state leaders do not appear all of a sudden. They take a long way. And it has happened to our leader. We know that he is capable of leading our country to a better life.

Belarusians, we will not allow to destroy the real people's leader, we will protect our chance for a decent life in a free Belarus!
