Surkov Arrives In Minsk To Negotiate With Volker

Putin’s Assistant will meet with the United States Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations.

Vladislav Surkov, the Assistant of the President of the Russian Federation, has arrived in Minsk, where he is expected to meet with the United States Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker.

“Surkov landed in Minsk airport,” — an infomed source reported to Interfax.

According to the Interfax correspondent, the Belavia flight from Moscow arrived in Minsk airport at 12.25 Moscow time.

Several minutes after the landing, two automobiles of the Russian Embassy — a representative Audi sedan and a Volkswagen minibus — left the airfield through a special exit and headed towards Minsk.

Previously, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry confirmed the information about the upcoming meeting between the United States Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker and Assistant of the President of the Russian Federation Vladislav Surkov in Minsk on Monday.

“The meeting will take place in Minsk today, in the no-media regime,” — head of the Information Department, Spokesman for the Belarusian MFA Dzmitry Mironchyk told.

As the US State Department informed back on August 18, the United States Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker would go to Minsk on August 21, to meet with the representative of the Russian government and discuss the Russia-Ukraine relations.
