Russian Aviation Redeployed To Belarus

Today, aviation operational-tactical exercises have started within the framework of West-2017.

On August 23-25, aviation tactical exercises are held in Belarus. These exercises are held as part of the preparation for the maneuvers West-2017.

The Belarusian Ministry of Defense reports that planes and helicopters of the Air and Space Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were relocated to the military airfields of Belarus for conducting joint operations during the exercises.

In the course of the exercises, the troops will master the use of the United Regional Air Defense System of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation to ensure the military security of the Union State, the aviation will fulfill combat missions at the training grounds of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, including landing on the airfield section of the road.

These exercises will help to raise the level of the personnel’s combat training by managing the aviation units, improving the tactics and methods of using the aviation.

The joint Belarusian-Russian exercises West-2017 are to begin in Belarus on September 14. The exercises will take place on 6 training grounds: Lepelski, Barysauski, Losvida (Vitsebsk region), on the training grounds Ruzhanski and Damanauski (Brest region) of the Air Forces and Air Defense Forces, as well as near Dretun (30 km from Polatsk).
