Belakoneu Refuses To Answer Journalists’ Questions About West-2017 Exercises

The Head of the General Staff of Belarus simply ignored the conversation with the media.
A briefing dedicated to the joint Belarus-Russia military drills West-2017 was held today in Minsk. Head of the General Staff of the Republic of Belarus, General-Major Aleh Belakoneu answered the journalists’ questions.
According to Head of the General Staff of Belarus Aleh Belakoneu, the Russian troops should return to the places of their dislocation after the exercises West-2017 are over.
Belakoneu, when asked by the Radio Liberty journalist why asking questions was not allowed, did not answer and left. His subordinate Makarau said that this was not provided.

Important to note, military experts, political observers and leaders of several EU countries stated about the threat posed by the exercises West-2017. In the opinion of the experts, the exercises can become an excuse for the soft occupation of Belarus.
The Warning Action demanding the abolition of the exercises West-2017 will take place at 7 p.m. on September 8 in the Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk.
