Supreme Court: Larysa Heniush Not To Be Rehabilitated Due To Helping World Bourgeois Class
LARYSA HENIUSH

The activists received a shocking reply from the authorities.

The activists who have been struggling for the rehabilitation of poetess Larysa Heniush, convicted in the Soviet times, received an offical reply from the Supreme Court. The document, signed by Deputy Chair of the Supreme Court R.Aniskevich, disclaims the reason why Larysa Heniush was denied rehabilitation. The press-center of the BPF Youth informed this to the Charter97.org.

“It is informed herewith that, the resolution of the Presidium of the Supreme Court dated November 24, 1999, made on the basis of the conclusion of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus, provides for the denial in rehabilitation of L.A.Heniush for having committed crimes under Articles 66, 76 of the Criminal Code of the BSSR (edition of 1928), during the period of time of the Great Patriotic war.”

Besides, Article 66 of the Criminal Code of the year 1928 says that ... helping the world bourgeois class is considered a crime:

“Rendering assistance by any means or way to the world bourgeois class, which, having failed to recognize the legal equality of the communist system, that is coming to replace the capitalist system; strives for the subversion thereof; and also to those remaining under its influence, or public groups and organizations, directly organized by the bourgeois class in implementation of activity which is hostile to the soviets of the SSR, incurs imprisonment for the term of no less than three years with the confiscation of property, fully or partially, with the escalation, given extremely aggravating circumstances, up to the ultimate measure of social defense — death execution or declaring enemy of the labour people, with confiscation of property and deprivation of the citizenship of the BSSR or any other Soviet republic, which means deprivation of the USSR citizenship and ousting out of the borders of the USSR forever.”

Article 76 refers to any kind of preparation of counter-revolutionary activity.
