Independent Journalist Fined at Hospital

The night after the attack of the unknown, who splashed the journalist with chemicals, independent journalist Kanstantyn Zhukouski spent in the toxicology department of the emergency hospital. Now he feels better.

"I had "sandpaper" in the eyes, throat irritationб but there are no serious injuries. Today I am discharge from hospital. The policeman on duty arrived to me at the hospital and wrote down my statements. I will sue," Zhukouski tells Belsat.

On August 9 he also received a letter. Zhukovsky thought it was a summons, it turned out that the hearing was held in his absentia and he was fined 35 basic units - 805 rubles ($400).

"I was not informed about the trial, I called them, they say they sent SMS. I did not get any SMS. I received the protocol on August 3, then they told me that they would only send it to court. It was evident that they were in a hurry, as the term of responsibility was about to end. It is obvious that the trial was held on the same day," the journalist says.

It will be recalled that yesterday Kanstantyn Zhukouski was attacked by an employee of a pig farm and splashed with an unknown substance. The incident occurred when the freelancer drove with operator Andrei Talochyn on a pig farm "Dobraya Khryushka" to check information on loss of pigs in the Zelenye Luki village.
