Dzhyli Is To Be Transformed Into Electric "Lukamobile"

The Barysau "analogue of Tesla" will be remodeled according to the dictator’s recommendations.

The battery will be removed from the trunk compartment of the Belarusian electric car, and the car will have a new body, as it was proposed by Lukashenka when testing the American car Tesla. Representatives of the Ministry of Industry informed about that at the press conference dedicated to the Day of Machine Builder, tut.by reports.

We remind that Lukashenka gave some recommendations to the Belarusian developers of the electromobile during his acquaintance with the imported car.

– The battery is one of the main elements. Do not put it in the trunk. As you have seen, it was put on the bottom in Tesla, and, as I understand, it even keeps the car at high speed, balancing the movement. Therefore, we should go this way, too, – the ruler concluded. – The main thing is to create a good engine. You have the basis.

The Unified Institute of Mechanical Engineering is already working on a new type of battery that will not take up space in the trunk, it will be placed along the free body cavities. The batteries will have their own cooling system, their own electronics. In fact, only the elements will be imported, the batteries will be conveyorized in Belarus. It will allow reducing their cost in half.

– Now we are in close touch with the plant Dzhyli. We ask them to give us a body of the electromobile, not to invent our own, to facilitate the work on installing the batteries. Then we will build in our own electric drive there," – Siarhei Paddubka, the General Director of the Unified Institute of Mechanical Engineering, says.

Despite the fact that Dzhyli has its own electric vehicles, the idea to produce our own Belarusian product in their bodies has good reasons. It means localization. The body, the electric drive, the battery – everything will be produced in Belarus, and this is 70% of the localization. Without this, an electric car cannot be sold at the Customs Union markets.

In its present form, the Belarusian electric car is, rather, a so-called "mule" for testing the technologies of the electric drive. The commerce sample will look different, given that the current body is not produced. The final version will have a body from Dzhyli, but a more modern one. For the simple reason that we do not have other cars of Belarusian production, and the task is to make an affordable electric car.

– It is very difficult to create our own electric car. The work on developing of the passenger electric transport goes in two directions: the creation of a scientific base, the training of personnel and the support of the state in the development of infrastructure and the stimulation of demand for electromobiles. There is already a charging station near the Ministry of Industry, it is possible to come in an electromobile and charge it, – First Deputy Minister of Industry Henadz Sviderski says.

The Dzhyli plant intends to launch the production of engines in Belarus, an agreement has already been signed. So far, it will be a semi knocked down assembly of the power unit "engine-transmission". Opening such a large-scale production, Chinese brand owners request the production of some components here in Belarus.
