Communal Payments Can Be Increased Again

The decision to raise tariffs in Minsk has already been prepared.

It is expected that in 2018, the cost of housing services in Minsk will decrease by 9 million rubles. Deputy Director General of the Minsk City Housing Authority Yulia Sahaidak announced that at a press conference on January 15.

According to her, in 2017, the cost of housing services reduced by more than 17 million rubles, in 2018, a decrease of $ 9 million is expected, BelTA informs.

As noted by the official, it might be decided to increase the tariffs for housing and communal services in case of growth in household incomes.

The decision to increase tariffs in Minsk has already been prepared and is under consideration of the Ministry of Justice, ej.by writes.

"The increase occurs only once a year. But we also are allowed to index the tariffs up to four times a year. The indexation was held last year. But before such a decision the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus necessarily study the growth of incomes of the population. And decisions on indexation of tariffs can be made only in connection with these figures. We are to ask the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade whether it will be held in 2018. But this mechanism is envisaged," – Yulia Sahaidak says.

We remind that since January 1, Belarus has already raised tariffs on housing and communal services.
