The police had to storm the building.

In the afternoon of January 15, a resident of one of the houses in 1-st Vadapravodny Lane phoned the Baranavichy police department and said that he was going to blow up the building. The man said that he was already filling up the apartment with gas and the explosion would soon occur, Intex Press writes.

The duty officer of the Baranavichy Department of Internal Affairs received a message from a local resident born in 1967 via the phone number 102. The man told the police officer that unknown people were demanding from him to transfer them 150 Belarusian rubles, the website of the Brest Regional Executive Committee informs.

The nearest police detachment was immediately sent to the scene. On the arrival of law enforcement officers, the man did not open the door. He was behaving inadequately, in a conversation with the police, expressed his intention to commit suicide and blow up the house.

In addition, the man called the town emergency services 25 times with various threats and messages.

The police decided to evacuate the residents of the house. The building was disconnected from gas and electricity lines. 11 people living in a single-story apartment building were evacuated.

At 17.05, after unsuccessful negotiations, the policemen stormed the offender's apartment.

Special services searched the house and no found explosive items or other threats to life and health of tenants there.

A check is being carried out, the motives and reasons of what happened are being clarified. The detainee has been transferred to medical workers.
