The criminal case initiated under "possession of a bullet" is submitted to the Minsk court.

The criminal case of Minsk artist-designer Andrei Byalyauski is submitted to the Leninski District Court of Minsk, inform spring96.org

According to Article 295, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, he may face up to five years of the deprivation of liberty or imprisonment up to seven years with or without confiscation of property, or manual labour up to two years. Thus, the one bullet which gathered dust in a closet may become the reason for a long-term imprisonment for the former defendant in the "Patriots' Case".

It will be recalled that artist-designer from Minsk was detained on March 21 and charged under Art. 293, para 3 and Art. 287 of the Criminal Code. He was released from the KGB remand prison on recognizance not to leave on June 2. During the search carried out right after the detention the bullet was found. On December 12, the Investigative Committee served charges on the patriot under Art. 295, para 2 "illegal production, acquisition, possession, transportation, or carrying of firearms, ammunition, explosives".

During the interrogation, Andrei Byalyauski delivered the request to terminate the criminal proceeding and to recognize his deed with possession of the bullet posing no hazard and legally insignificant. On December 5, he was dismissed the request on termination of the criminal case for possession of the bullet. The date of the trial has not yet been appointed.
