The anniversary of independence is a holiday for all citizens of Belarus.
On January 22, it was decided at the meeting of the organizing committee to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the BPR to apply to state institutions with the proposal to participate in solemn events.
One of the leaders of the Belarusian National Congress, coordinator of the European Belarus civil campaign Yauhen Afnahel told Charter97.org about it:
– Taking into account the exceptional importance of the anniversary of the Belarusian People's Republic for the modern Belarusian statehood, the organizing committee suggests that Minsk city executive committee chairman Andrei Shorats and his deputies personally receive the application on holding the March 25 campaign.
We propose to hold a solemn ceremony in the Minsk city executive committee, where Andrei Shorats and the officials would personally receive the application on holding the rally from the heads of the organizing committee for celebrating the BPR's 100th anniversary.
In addition, we plan to visit state institutions, a number of ministries and the official media. We invite the authorities to hold the festive events dedicated to the centenary of the BPR together, so that the maximum number of the country’s citizens, regardless of their political views, would attend them.
The anniversary of BPR is our common holiday, which should unite all the patriots of Belarus.
We remind that the festive rally planned in Minsk on March 25 will start at Yakub Kolas Square at 2 pm.
