Accumulator Plant Achieved Notoriety In Belaaziorsk

No one wants to take away on recycling the waste from the factory and it might be simply imbedded.

The problem of the Belaaziorsk Accumulator Plant, similar to one built near Brest, is not only in harmful emissions to the environment. Another big problem is that there is place where to remove the poisonous waste. Public activist Aliaksandr Kabanau, who together with blogger Siarhei Petrukhin studied this issue not only in Belaaziorsk, but also in Homel and Brest, says so, Radio Racyja informs.

"They have already paid fines, big enough ones, more than once. Last year, they paid a big tax on the environment, because a lot of waste has already gathered in their warehouses, which have been built for storage of waste in the territory of the plant. Disposal sites and various enterprises refuse to take these wastes from them. And at the moment, the issue of allocating a separate site to them, where they could simply dig in these wastes, is being considered. But environmentalists are against it," – the activist says.

According to Aliaksandr Kabanau, about 7 thousand tons of second class hazard wastes were taken to the territory near the village of Zialiony Bor, Ivatsevichi district, not far from Belaaziorsk. Now the Investigative Committee is investigating this case.
