Mahiliou Democrats Want To Make 100th Anniversary Of BPR National Holiday

The politicians called all the patriots of Belarus to join the celebration.

A public organizing committee to celebrate the centenary of the BPR has been set up in Mahiliou. The organizing committee sets a goal to make Freedom Day a real national holiday, one of the participants Vital Makaranka noted in his commentary to mspring.online.

Vital Makaranka called all those, who have something to offer, to join the preparation for the holiday.

According to Makaranka, he also invited the Mahiliou authorities, but they refused.

– I sent appeals to the leadership of the city executive committee and the regional executive committee, but they were redirected to the department of ideology of the city executive committee. Already from there, I received the answer that Freedom Day is not a state holiday, therefore, officials do not want to participate in its preparation, – the politician complained.

On January 25, the meeting of the organizing committee is to take place, at which, as Makaranka hopes, the first concrete proposals on the celebration of the BPR's one hundredth anniversary will appear.

We remind that on January 22, it was decided at the meeting of the organizing committee for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian People's Republic in Minsk to apply to state institutions with a proposal to participate in solemn events.
