Zhytkavichy Residents: You Can’t Feel Arms And Legs Because Of Frostbite

People are shocked by the stream crossing over the river Prypiats made by the authorities.

After the bridge over the Prypiats in Zhytkavichy district broke down, and the pontoon crossing, under the pressure of ice, swam away, the district residents temporarily are transported across the river by boats.

However, strong frosts make this process, which is, to put it mildly, not very convenient, totally uncomfortable.

Zhytkavichy resident Yulia Smalianets shared her impressions of such a "cruise" on the page of the community Extreme Situation-Homel in the social network VKontakte.

"What a horror! we drove today for the first time so that's what I can say about it, it's just a nightmare and I wonder what our chairmen and so on are doing, we got very cold while waiting for the boat, the people were simply dancing from cold, there was only one boat crossing the river, so with the children it was not just possible, especially for pregnant ones, stop wearing out the seat of you trousers, how to take your child, if you yourself stand there and just do not feel hands and feet because of the frostbite not to mention the child, there is such a devil-may-careness in Belarus, we are back home and that was a nightmare (Prypiats Azerany) it’s the 21st century and it’s just a horror"(the lexicon and spelling of the original – Ed.).

We remind that the other day, representatives of government agencies informed that the renovated bridge is planned to be commissioned no earlier than in a year – on January 1, 2019.
