Lukashenka Signs Decree On Raising Communal Tariffs

Belarusians will pay 100% for most of the services.

The Belarusian dictator signed Decree # 473 “On the establishment of tariffs for housing and utility services for the population for 2018”, reports tut.by.

It is noted that the maximum allowable tariffs “are formed taking into account the reserves for the reduction of the cost of housing and utility services identified by the interdepartmental working group established by the State Control Committee.”

It is planned that these tariffs will allow in 2018 to ensure the level of compensation of the population for the entire complex of housing and utility services in the amount of more than 70%. For the majority of services (maintenance of living quarters, elevators, water supply, sanitation, collection, removal and neutralization of municipal waste), taking into account the ongoing work to reduce their prime cost, it is planned to achieve 100% compensation.

In the conditions of growth of housing and utility payments, the work will on the state support of the population by providing non-cash housing subsidies to those who need it, will be continued.

Such subsidies are granted to citizens and families, provided that the monthly amount of utility payments exceeds 20% of their average monthly total income in the city and 15% in rural areas.
