Delivery Of Nuclear Fuel To Belarusian NPP Planned For December

The delivery of nuclear fuel to the Belarusian NPP is scheduled for December, Deputy Director of the JSC Atomstroyexport engineering company in Belarus Viktor Brich said during the round table “Nuclear energy development prospects: aspects of security, ecology, economics and sustainable development” at the XXIII Belarusian Energy and Ecology Forum, BelTA informs.

“Today, the construction of the Belarusian NPP is dynamic. We are planning to deliver nuclear fuel in December of this year. The commissioning of the Belarusian NPP will be carried out in accordance with the terms established in the contract,” – Viktor Brich said.

The Belarusian NPP is being built with VVER-1200 reactors according to the Russian project near Astravets (Hrodna region). The first power unit is planned to be commissioned in 2019, the second – in 2020. The nuclear power plant is being built in violation of international safety standards.
