The politician has spent five days in the temporary detention center of Brest for the rally against the battery factory.

Mikalai Statkevich was released from the temporary detention center in Brest, a Charter97.org correspondent reports.

One of the leaders of the Belarusian National Congress was detained at a protest rally against the battery factory construction in Brest on October 14. Bloggers Siarhei Piatrukhin, Aliaksandr Kabanau and several activists were arrested along with the politician.

On October 15, the politician was sentenced to five days of arrest.
