Life's getting better.

Yesterday it seemed unbearable. The result of tracking has thrown the country off kilter. It turned out that the enemy was in fact already standing at the gate. Come to think of it, it is worse: "enemies are everywhere". The life has become a nightmare.

And here Babich appears. He is an ambassador and especially authorised comrade of the Kremlin leader. He immediately relieved minds of the terrified: "Any attack on Belarus will be regarded as an attack on Russia and will bear consequences."

Quoting this categorical statement, for some reason, many information agencies miss the word "any", and substitute it with ambiguous ellipses. And how wrong it is! This word reveals the essence of the sudden Kremlin impulse to protect the unfortunate and intimidated. It is clear that cool guys will not stand such behavior in relation to Belarus.

The new ambassador is not a man of many words. He is a KGB officer and a paratrooper. He got used to appear in flash points. And this is his mission in Belarus. And it makes no use to correct his unique style, even if someone believes that he is filled with barrack spirit. "Any attack" - that's it. There no options keeping Russia from unbearable desire to be helpful. Lack of a clear cry for help does not make a difference.

As of today, Belarus is in great danger. And President Trump with his sound statements about possible withdrawal from the treaty on short- and intermediate- range missiles is not the first in the list of potential hazards. "Enemies are everywhere" is not an obsession but an objective assessment of the real situation.

The ambassador is right: the modern world is dangerous and unpredictable. Any evil smirk in relation to the Belarusian authorities threatens the collapse of delicate peace. There are so many threats - real and indomitable. Let's imagine none of western neighbours and do not think about any intrigues against official Minsk. Is there any guarantee that the armed forces of the same Honduras will not suddenly send a mobile detachment of militants under guise of economic migrants? Does anyone care about a sudden appearance of Papuans armed with spears and bows in front of a peaceful hut of Miklouho-Maclay? Do we know everything about true intentions of the Martian militarist?

There is a reason for the great-hearted Kremlin to worry about our fate. And it has already taken the plunge. Last Friday, October 26, citizens of the republic learned some shocking news. Some MPs of some parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia considered the military doctrine of the Union State. And it is quite understandable. There is no more important problem for Belarusians today than this "military doctrine". The project will be submitted for approval on December 13. The question why and who needs this doctrine so urgently is incorrect.

Imperial puzzles, recently messed up, are already transforming into a clear picture. It's simple, or even primitive. In its reckless conflict with the West Russia is trying to return its large-scale "response to Chamberlain." If does manage to do it using sovereign Belarus. That's why this primitive operation of fraternization and possible invasion is required.

Instead of the old doctrine the Russian leadership considers long outdated, they try to jam a new document through, which could specify favorable terms on the regional force grouping of Belarus and Russia. In addition, the Russian military base located on our territory; the decision was made by Putin in 2015. It is no wonder that even the Military Minister Sergey Shoigu was here on October 24; he kept singing the same dull song about the joint resistance towards threats of the West. If they had succeeded in approving this in intergovernmental agreements, the country would have become the almost forgotten Belarusian military district. And accursed word "sovereignty" would vanish in the twinkling of an eye.

But the situation differs from the one the Kremlin ruler was counting on. There is no money to bribe the bossy riffraff. There's no time to play blind Tom. Only the option of brutal force is left. The Russian press openly writes about the Kremlin's intention to suspend the prolonged career of the promotee, who also wants to play his own game.

They think the time has come. It's all about small intrigues and stubborn ally. It's time to put a small pressure and a ripen fruit falls down. But their hope that they can invade without a sound is vain. Like every inventor of quick breakthroughs, they do not take people into consideration. After all, this great idea may result into an unpleasant embarrassment. A fatal one.

And now, when terms and objectives are announced, everyone realizes the reason for so frequent visits of the ruler in Sochi this autumn. And the reason why he was so confused after negotiations with Putin. Assistants attempted to hide the shame of those capitulatory meetings with a modest phrase: "Military and political issues were discussed behind closed doors." Small tricks of the dictator mean nothing special; they just negotiated disputable points of the clothing supply and places for bedside-tables in barracks of the OSCE.

He is still pretending a cool dictator. But he is the last to learn about decisions made in Russian staff offices. Much time has passed since cynical allies have demonstrated their imperial claims so openly. And what they get in return? Only obedience and eternal flattery. And even his personal website does not show a sign of concern or an attempt to warn the country. Silence, peace and stability are everywhere.

And, of course, hockey. In the time free from hugs the commander and the sportsman rushes to the ice arena, and something heavy in red-green uniform is about to attack a confused opponent. Tribunes are howling as well as the BRYU. And pucks reach the net in a row.

No one can understand whether it's the net of opponents or ours.
