At the moment, one victim found.
An investigative team works at the place of ceiling collapse in the shopping center Arena City in the north-west of Minsk.
Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the State Committee of Forensic Examination take part in the inspection of the scene. They will have to find out what caused the collapse.
“Preliminary conclusion: the plasterboard structure collapsed as a result of a broken mount. The inspection of the scene will show what happened specifically, – Dzmitry Kanaplianik, the head of the Minsk department of the investigative committee, told euroradio.fm. – Of course, we will withdraw the necessary documentation. The necessary expertise will be made, and experts will be invited to assess both the current situation and the design choice.”
At the moment, investigators found one victim. Her condition is assessed as moderate severity, but not life threatening.
“The investigators are aimed at identifying all the persons, who were injured and who sought health care,” – Dzmitry Kanaplianik added.
Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the victim, a girl born in 1994, was selling flowers in a pavilion over which the ceiling crushed. She was taken to a hospital. According to preliminary information, she suffers traumatic brain injury, shock and abdominal bruises.
