Mikalai Statkevich: We Succeeded In 2017, We Will Succeed In 2019!

– The Presidium of Narodnaya Hramada is outraged by the next attempt of the authorities to introduce additional extortions from the unemployed. Instead of helping people who cannot find a decent job here because of the failed economic policies of the regime, the authorities are trying to put their hands into the pockets of the unemployed.

Additional extortions from temporary economic migrants who are forced to look for an opportunity to feed their families abroad will only force them to leave our country forever. Belarus will lose the most dynamic segment of the population and its descendants.

We consider the repeated attempt to impose charges on “social parasites” a crime against the people and the future of Belarus.

We call on the authorities to abolish the illegal Decree No. 1 and reject illegal levies. We propose to receive additional funds in the budget by cutting down half of the hundreds of thousands of officials and law enforcement officers, as well as selling numerous “presidential” residences and limousines.

We warn that if the illegal “decree” is put into effect, we will call on people to protect the violated constitutional rights in the main squares of their cities. At the same time, we will not fool them with proposals to submit senseless applications to the authorities, asking for something that already belongs rightfully to the citizens.

In order to organize peaceful protests, we invite people to form People’s Self-Defense Committees throughout the country and we will take part in them ourselves.

We advise the author of the “decree” to think once again before putting it into action.

We invite our partners in the Belarusian National Congress to support this warning to the power.
