Lukashenka To Russia: Our Food Is Natural, Yours – With Additives
CARTOON BY SERGEY YELKIN

The dictator has made yet another scandal with regard to the food shipment to the Russian Federation.

On December 13, Lukashenka met with the head of the Republic of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov. The dictator began to complain that they seem less willing to take Belarusian products at the Russian market.

He added that Belarus is sometimes blamed for dumping in the Russian market with the supply of cheaper products. "I often say to the leaders of Russia: tell us, create a big company, and we will supply food to all Russia through it. We supply you for the ruble, and you sell for 10, if you think that the Russians are very rich. That is, there is simply unfair competition here. It is absolutely not about the quality," Lukashenka said.

Lukashenka began to tell that Belarus has preserved the state standartization system since the Soviet times, and even tightened the standards. "We began to develop, endured the hardships. Because you have some technical regulations, and we have state standards, our food is natural, yours - with additives. Yours is cheaper because of this, and ours is more expensive. And we could not compete after the collapse of the Union in these markets, because the population was not rich. It was difficult for us to compete, because natural food was more expensive, - Lukashenka said. - But I firmly set the task then: we will endure, look - in two or three years the situation will change. People will not be poor all the time and will tend to buy natural food even for their last money. This is how it happened in the end."

Lukashenka also drew attention to the fact that the attack against the Belarusian products is under way, the task is to diversify the markets. "This is an axiom for any state. It's impossible to focus solely even on the most friendly and fraternal state - one market without others," said the dictator.
