The Minsk court sent the case of journalist Henadz Barbarych back for the revision.

On December 14, the Partizanski district court of Minsk continued consideration of the administrative case of journalist Henadz Barbarych, writes human rights center “Viasna”.

He was accused of the fact that on December 8, he, “together with the cameraman Liauchuk, made a video, which was later posted on the Radio Racyja website”, thus having violated Part 2 of Article 22.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (“illegal production and distribution of media products”).

At the previous court hearing on December 13, Henadz Barbarych noted:

“No one personally talked to me, they made a protocol in absentia precisely for the material that relates to the“ BelTA case” when I came to the building of the Investigatory Committee on December 8 and interviewed Iryna Leushyna, the editor-in-chief. However, there was no video interview on the website, just a remark under the proto.”

Today, the court reviewed the case file and decided to send the protocol of the offense back to the police station for the revision.

According to Henadz Barbarych, he does not consider himself guilty, because according to the Constitution he is guaranteed the right to free collection and dissemination of information.
