Provocations against the European Belarus coordinator continue.

Yauhen Afnahel, the coordinator of the civil campaign European Belarus and one of the leaders of the Belarusian National Congress, told about it to Charter97.org website:

– Yesterday I was summoned for an interrogation to the Minsk district police department. The interrogation was done as part of the administrative case on “theft,” which was initiated on December 5th after the well-known provocation of the traffic police officers and police officers.

During the interrogation, I confirmed my previous testimony. Police officers drew up a statement of my property impoundment, namely the car that belongs to me. Police major Andrei Chubukau, who interrogated me, signed the decision to impound my car.

According to the police officers, this was done in order to “guarantee” the payment of the fine, which may be imposed on me.

After that, they took me to Kalodzishchy and seized my car, which was evacuated to a parking lot near the Minsk District Police Department.

After that, I talked to human rights activists and they confirmed to me that there were no legal grounds for confiscating my car. I can hardly explain the logic of the police officers, who took the car to “guarantee the payment of a fine,” which has not yet been imposed on me. So, they probably know in advance that the fine will be imposed.

I believe that, most likely, all this was done to give the security services an opportunity to plant bugs and eavesdropping devices on my car in a calm atmosphere. In order to follow my movements and movements of my wife and to do audio surveillance so that they could hear the conversations, which, in their opinion, are conducted in the car.

We remind, that on December 5, the police made a provocation against Yauhen Afnahel.

The European Belarus coordinator and his wife were detained by traffic police officers and police officers after they had bought building materials for their house. The police accused the politician of “theft” and took him to the Barauliany police department of the Minsk region, together with the warehouse manager, where he bought building materials. At the same time, the police threatened the warehouse manager and told him in plain text that he should write a statement about the theft.

In the Barauliany police department, the police officers seized the politician's phone and filmed him for three hours.

Thanks to the rapid media reaction, the Yauhen Afnahel's status on this “case” was eventually changed to a “witness.”
