Shunevich Is Afraid Of “Political Disorder”
Yauhen Afnahel

The police continues provocations against one of the BNC leaders.

Coordinator of the European Belarus civil campaign, one of the leaders of the Belarusian National Congress Yauhen Afnahel has written about the situation around the “theft” administrative case, which was initiated after the well-known provocation of the traffic police and police, as early as on December 5.

– Together with human rights activists, we prepared and sent to the prosecutor’s office a complaint regarding the arrest imposed on my car. Also today I’ve learned that within the framework of the administrative case, where I’m a witness, several Kalodzishchy residents, who work at the warehouse, where I bought building materials, and also my wife’s relatives and neighbors were interrogated.

But the investigation of the case, apparently, is not very interesting for a number of people. A few days ago, the Minister of the Interior stated that I was guilty of the theft – despite the fact that at the time he said that, I, in his own words, was only a witness. The leadership of the Minsk region police department knows before the trial that I will be convicted and will be sentenced to a fine and seizes my car to “have a guarantee of payment.” As for the interrogation of other people, then maybe someone can tell me why, despite the fact that they are interrogated within the framework of an administrative case on a theft, they are interested in my social activities?

Does it all come from legal ignorance or from a feeling of impunity? Or, is the fear of the approaching “political disorder” so great that they can ignore the law?

P.S: During the interrogation, the investigators asked why I had bought building materials in that very place where I had been detained. Especially for them – a screenshot of Google Maps, with at least two companies selling metal profiles at 23 Malakovich street, Kalodzishchy, marked on it.

P.P.S: And please, get your graymen off the house – they are cold there.
