The President of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ICIE), Artem Chaika, has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Economic Council at the ambassador of Russia in Belarus, Mikhail Babich. Information about this is posted on the ICIE website, tut.by reports.

The council is called upon to “assist the provision of a unified foreign policy line of Russia in the field of trade and economic cooperation with Belarus, the promotion of the economic interests of the Russian Federation in Belarus, in particular, the development of trade, investment, monetary and financial, scientific and technical cooperation between the countries,” the press service of the Russian Embassy in Minsk says.

It is assumed that the meetings of the Economic Council in the presence of the ambassador will be held twice a year.

In this context, the figure of the new deputy chairman of the board, Artem Chaika, provokes interest. He is a son of the Prosecutor General of Russia and a famous entrepreneur. He is widely credited with assets in industry, commercial real estate. It is known that he takes part in large biker gatherings in Minsk at least twice a year. Artem Chaika heads the H.O.G. Iron Birds club, which is one of the organizers of the opening and closing of the motorcycle season in the Belarusian capital. He maintains friendly relations with one of the dictator’s sons, Viktar Lukashenka, who also enjoys motorcycles. “Iron Birds has a five-year history of the motorcycle club, friendship between the fraternal peoples of Russia and Belarus stands at its origins. Artem Chayka and Viktar Lukashenka became ideological inspirers of the movement,” – a piece on topgearrussia.ru states.

It is noteworthy that recently Artem Chaika has been awarded the “For Assistance” sign of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus.
