Russia Owes Belarusian Companies $450 Mln

The road repair companies from Rahachou are suing the administration of the Russian town Lipetsk.

Economic entities of Russia owe Belarusian enterprises $ 450 million for the work performed. Money has not been paid to this day. According to Radio Liberty, the General Prosecutor's Office of Belarus reported this.

Among others, the road construction administration #1 from the town of Rahachou, Homel region, is suing the administration of the Russian town Lipetsk. In October 2017, Belarusian builders showered several streets of the city with asphalt-concrete crumb. For this, they should have received more than half a million Russian rubles. According to the contract, Lipetsk officials had to pay within five days. Since then, the second year has already passed, and Rahachou still has not received the money.

The reason is that during this time the customer carried out the reorganization. Now, the new organization has neither money nor property that can be sold. Therefore, all the hopes of Rahachou builders are for international arbitration.

All in all, Russian economic entities owe $ 450 million to Belarusian enterprises for their work and services. Deputy Prosecutor-General of Belarus Aliaksandr Lashyn actually admitted that they were out of circulation, and are now being tried for.

So far, only 5.3 million dollars out of 450 have been recovered.
