Ihar Komlik: Interesting Castling Takes Place Around "Trade Union’s Case"
IHAR KOMLIK

The investigation team has changed already twice.

The investigation of the "trade union’s case" has been extended until May 1, interrogations of trade union activists are still being held.

"The investigation team has also been changed," – REP trade union accountant Ihar Komlik told the palitviazni.info website.

"Yesterday it became known that the investigation was extended for three months – until May 1, – Ihar Komlik says. – Besides, the investigation group has been changed twice already. At first, one investigator was engaged in the case, then they added one more, and at the end of the year a third one appeared. Now the investigation is being conducted by two investigators, new ones. Such an interesting castling is taking place."

Ihar Komlik does not know the reasons, but thinks that the investigation "simply does not have sufficient grounds to bring the case defendants to responsibility."

"Probably, they have decided to "shake up" the trade union to find at least some leads or violations over the past years, – the interlocutor adds. – Although in 2003, there was a prosecutor's check, some people were randomly checked. And now about 300 of our activists across the country have been already summoned for questioning. Apparently, they seized the list of them with computer equipment, which they took back on August 2."

We remind that REP trade union accountant Ihar Komlik was detained on August 2. The criminal case against him and REP trade union chairman Henadz Fiadynich was initiated under Part 2 of Article 243 of the Criminal Code (evasion of payment of taxes and fees in a particularly large amount).

According to the official information of the State Control Committee of Belarus, it was allegedly established during the investigation of the criminal case that "the chairman and chief accountant of the trade union organization, opened accounts in foreign banks on behalf of the trade union for personal commercial gain and received large sums of money."

On October 2, Ihar Komlik was released under a written undertaking not to leave the place.
