Dzianis Ivashyn: We Hear Usual Flanneling From Lukashenka And Makei

The Belarusian contingent in the Donbass will be the "proxy peacemaker" of the Russian Federation.

"We hear the usual flanneling from Lukashenka and Makei, nothing more. What 10,000 Belarusian peacekeepers in the Donbass are they talking about? The number of the Armed Forces of Belarus at the moment is 16,500, the special operations forces – 6,000 people.

Is it possible that half of this amount will be transferred to the "peacekeeping" contingent? Needless to say that no, because the full-scale sending of Belarusian conscripts to the war will cause a wave of indignation, incomparably greater than the one caused by the killing of Korzhych. Is it possible that they would involve the special unit of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (11,000 people in total) for these purposes? It is also unlikely, since this is the Lukashenka regime’s main covering force.

Wandering from the megalomania, which marks all the dictators without exception, let’s analyze the real number of "peacekeepers" that Belarus can send.

To participate in peacekeeping missions under the auspices of the United Nations, national units are to meet certain criteria and have an appraisal of this organization. At the moment, only one unit – the peacekeeping company of the 103rd Airborne Brigade (Vitsebsk) of the special operations forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus – corresponds to these conditions. The number of the organizational and staff structure of this company, together with the non-permanent personnel, is up to 250 contract servicemen. That's the figure which should be reported.

The term for the training of new peacekeepers, taking into account the passing of theoretical courses in the Military Academy, individual training and formation of units, is up to six months. In the current climate, it’s possible to prepare, according to all the UN standards, not more than one company in six months. That is, Belarus is able to send no more than 500 "blue helmets" before the fall. This is factual information.

In addition, we all know that, in fact, the Belarusian contingent in the Donbass will be a "proxy peacemaker" of the Russian Federation. This naturally follows from the participation of Belarus in all the military alliances with the aggressor country, the existence of a "union state" and a single regional grouping of troops.

It will be much easier for the Kremlin to work in the occupied territories under the guise of its own "peacekeepers". For this reason, they are trying to use the resource of the Belarusian protectorate masquerading as the "regional security donor." The whole civilized world, for which the participation of Belarusian "peacekeepers" in the Donbass mission is absolutely unacceptable and excluded, must realize it."

We remind that on Sunday, Lukashenka announced his readiness to send 10,000 "peacekeepers" to the Donbass. His words were confirmed by Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makei.
