Police Search Apartment Of Journalist Who Reported Police Brutality

The police broke into the apartment of the regional publication's Editor-in-Chief.

Law enforcers came to the apartment of the online publication vrogacheve.ru editor-in-chief Dzianis Dashkevich with a search warrant.

Dzianis Dashkevich wrote about the incident on Facebook. According to the source of Belsat.eu, the police broke down the door to his apartment.

At the end of January, vrogacheve.ru published the shocking details of the police officers beating a Rahachou resident.

Shortly after the incident, Dzianis Dashkevich was summoned to the police station to find out from whom he learned about the incident with the participation of local police officers, who broke Viktar Artsyukh a rib during detention.

40-year-old Viktar complained about the actions of the police to the Prosecutor’s Office and the Investigatory Committee.

On February 7, the Rahachou district court fined Viktar Artsyukh for Bn 24 for crossing the street without a flicker.

According to the official of the Investigatory Committee, the aim of the visit to Dashkevich's apartment was to seize his computer equipment and reveal the sources of information of the independent website Rogachev Online. However, this operation was a huge failure. Dashkevich had been warned about the coming search by law-enforcers themselves, under the condition of anonymity and protection from the sanctions after the cnage of power. It is notable that the police did no paperwork related to the search, but simply left Dashkevich's apartment, having explained they only came for the computers.
