Freedom Day Organizing Committee: Rally To Celebrate BPR's 100th Anniversary Is To Be Festive

Large-scale events will be held from Kiev and Warsaw to New York and Washington.

There’s a month to go until the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Belarusian People's Republic.

A meeting of the organizing committee has already taken place in Minsk. The organizing committee hopes that this year the authorities will go back of the power scenario, which took place last year. The Freedom Day rally must be festive, not a protest one. The organizers also report that the Belarusian diaspora will join the celebration in many countries of the world, Belsat informs.

Large-scale events will be held from Kiev and Warsaw to New York and Washington.

Viachaslau Siuchyk from the Solidarity Movement Razam says that the street rally in Kiev will start at Maidan at 12 o'clock local time – so that Ukrainian politicians and citizens could congratulate the Belarusian people on Freedom Day.

As for the plans in Minsk, the organizers have applied not only for holding a demonstration and a rally, but also a festive concert in the city center. But the Minsk City Executive Committee still keeps silence, Yury Hubarevich says:

"The option from the Academy to Bangalore is not considered for today, as it will be a demonstration that the government does not respect the feelings and interests of a large part of the society, and do not care about our history."
