'Everyone Signed For Belarusian Language: Working Class, Intelligentsia'

The native language unites Belarusians not less than the white-red-white flag.

One of the "Young Front" leaders Zmitser Dashkevich, who collected signatures under the petition for the Belarusization of the education system on the International Mother Language Day on February 21, wrote this on Facebook:

- Frankly speaking, I didn't expect that our people, busy with work and daily concerns, would support the language so eagerly. However, the Belarusian people once again demonstrated their natural responsibility, and we managed to collect around 2 000 signatures in half a day.

I used to think before that the language issue disunited Belarusians more than, for example, the flag theme, but such queues of the people willing to sign for the support of their Mother-tongue appeared, that I became convinced: the native language is something that unites Belarusians not less than the white-red-white flag.

Because everyone signed for it: working class and intelligentsia, pensioners and little children, white and black — we all are Belarusians! I want to thank everyone for the participation and support! Long live the language — long live Belarus!"
