Two miners suffered sudden death.

Director General of Belaruskali Ivan Halavaty told about the accident at the mine, lived two miners dead, BelTA informs.

"Miners were found under ore near the equipment. Regrettably, it was a sudden death. In total, there were around 150 people at the mine, and 14 people worked in the accident area," Ivan Halavaty pointed out.

On March 9 there was a cave-in with salt and gas release at mine No. 19 of the 3d mine group.

The rate of emission release equaled about to 600 m³ of total rock. The mining machine and the self-propelled wagon were completely buried under ejected rock. Operator of rock removing machines Maksim Anatolievich Ivanou born in 1973 and miner Dzmitry Anatolievich Valkou born in 1985 were trapped by the cave-in.

It took more than a day to find miners, the cave-in was removed with shovels. As of 1 am, March 11, the self-propelled wagon was digged out. Corpses of miners were found behind it. The examination of the mining equipment showed that the equipment was removed from the hydraulic drive.

Maksim Ivanou was married and had two daughters, Dzmitry Valkou had son.

On March 10 the Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case under Article 303 "Violation of safety rules during construction works and mining." The criminal article provides for fine, arrest, personal restraint or imprisonment for the period of up to 7 years.
