Video Fact: Pinsk Wood Workers Appeal To Citizens Of Russia

The board of Pinsk Wood workers urged not to buy the production of the enterprise.

A short video appeared on the internet, in which three masked men voice claims against the managers of the furniture holding. They call themselves "Board of Pinsk Wood Workers", nn.by writes.

Pinsk Wood is a slaveholding enterprise, claim the authors of the video, urging the clients, especially the citizens of Russia, to boycott their products.

"We offered to honour the memory of those who died in the blast which happened at the chip board plant, with a minute of silence. [In 2010, a blast happened at the chip board plant, 14 people died - edit.]. Foremen ran around the plant threatening to fire those whose lathes would stop," - the participants of the video appeal tell.

They also drew attention to frequent death cases among the employees of the enterprise. Important to note, two workers have already died for the two months of 2018: in January, a man was injured with the equipment, and in early March the body of a wood processor was found at the territory of one of the holding's enterprises.

However, are the people in the video indeed related to the enterprise? Do their bosses know who they are? What shall the protesters expect to happen next? Did the story with the minute of silence actually happen?

The Pinsk Wood HR Director Mikalai Trushko informed that the enterprise would sue the authors of the video. Trushko showed no desire to answer the questions raised in the video message in details.

"We will go to the court and sue them for the slander. This video was recorded by Dzmitry Kudronak, who is now in Russia or somewhere. That's all, no more comments," - he informed.

Dzmitry Kudronak used to work at the Pinsk Wood and headed the "Board of Workers" six years ago, after which he was fired.

Formally, workers in Belarus have a right to hold a strike or protest in any other form, but in the reality the participants of protests face dismissal.
