Miners' Death In Salihorsk: Lukashenka Keeps Silence

The dictator's official website published no condolences.

On Sunday, March 11, the death of two Salihorsk miners was reported. The managing board of Belaruskali expressed condolences to the families of the deceased. Meanwhile, the website of the Salihorsk district executive committee has been keeping silence so far, and the Minsk regional executive committee only published the information, Solidarity writes.

Leader of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union Mikalai Zimin said the words of support and sympathy:

— The brothers-miners died and this is an irreplaceable loss for their families, for the collective of the enterprise, for the trade union. It's hard to find words that would comfort family members, friends, acquaintances, and the pain in the heart is so severe it cannot be spoken. For me, as a miner, it's twice as hard to perceive the death of two young guys. Dear families and friends of Maksim Ivanou and Dzmitry Valkou, please accept our sincere condolences and sympathy.

According to Zimin, the labour protection regulations are paid close attention to at the enterprise, but "it is impossible to foresee everything, because this is a mine, it is unpredictable and poses a serious risk for workers ".

No condolences have been heard from Lukashenka yet. As of the first half of the day, the latest message on his official website in the "Telegrams" section is dated March 12 (the meeting with state secretary of the "union state" Grigoriy Rapota).

Important to note, a year ago Aliaksandr Lukashenka sent official condolences to President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in connection with the death of the miners in the "Stepova" mine in Lviv region.
