Actress Beaten On New Year's Night: Special Policemen To Be Checked With Polygraph

The scandalous incident involving the Minsk special police continues.

The Investigatory Committee extended the check under the claim of actress Sviatlana Sakalouskaya (at the request of the interlocutor, we do not publish her real surname, revealing only the stage name - edit.) on the unlawful actions of the police officers till April 1. Sviatlana told Solidarity about this.

On the night of January 1, Sviatlana Sakalouskaya was hit on the head with a truncheon and hospitalized with a concussion. The victim wants to obtain a fair punishment for the law enforcer who beat her.

Sviatlana says that her claim has been transferred to the fifth IC investigator for the check.

"I hope that investigator Kazlouski will bring the matter to an end."

In the Investigatory Committee, the injured Minsk woman found out that the investigator did not file a request to view the recordings from the CCTV cameras at the Chyzhouka Arena. After the expiration of the limitation period, the records have been destroyed.

Sviatlana says she was surprised when she learned that the paramedics of the ambulance, who were taking her from the scene unconscious, said that the victim herself went into the car and talked to the medical staff.

- The paramedics claim that they told me that my head was injured. According to their testimony, I said that my arm was damaged in a fight. It is not true! Having been hit with a truncheon on the head, I woke up in an ambulance. As my boyfriend told me, the paramedics took me to the car. I remember how I came round in the car, saw a bone splint on my arm and asked where I was being taken.

A stranger called the ambulance for Sviatlana at the New Year's show.

- The investigator let me listen to the audio recordings of a telephone call from a guy who calls at 103 and asks for help to a girl who was hit on the arm. In the record, my crying is heard.

Sviatlana's saviour has not yet been found. It turned out that the caller's phone was registered on another person who does not live in Minsk.

After the publication in Solidarityu, the head of the Minsk police took the investigation into the conflict between the Minsk women and the special police officers under personal control.

Sviatlana, her boyfriend and girlfriends, who were together at the New Year's Show in Chyzhouka, were summoned to the City Administration of Internal Affairs at the Minsk City Executive Committee.

According to Sviatlana, within the framework of the official investigation, she was interviewed by the senior inspector for special affairs Baidun A.A.

- He said that the special policemen claimed that I was not at that show in Chyzhouka. The major assured that the riot police will undergo a mandatory check with the polygraph. I'm waiting for the results.
