Russia Bans Shipments Of Products Made By Another Belarusian Enterprise

The ban will come into force this Saturday.

As reported by interfax.by with a reference to the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, since March 17, the import of Kalinkavichy dairy plant products (Svetlahorsk branch) is forbidden due to the fact that bacteria of the Escherichia coli group were detected three times in its dry milk.

In addition, the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance introduces enhanced laboratory monitoring of the production of the Hlybokaye Milk and Cannery Plant (detection of sulfamethazine in whole condensed milk) and the Vorsha Dairy Plant (detection of sulfamethasine in drinking pasteurized milk).

The service explained that sulfamethasine is an antibacterial drug that is used in the treatment of pneumonia, cerebral meningitis, sepsis, dysentery and other serious diseases. The drug is not recommended for children under 12 years.
