3 Million Contraband Cigarettes Found In Belarusian Train In Latvia

The hiding-place was made in a cistern filled with bitumen.

The cache with cigarettes was found by Latvian customs officers at the Daugavpils freight station in a cargo train that arrived from Belarus, baltnews.lv reports.

In one of the tanks, they found hidden cardboard boxes wrapped in black plastic wrap. The boxes were filled with NZ Gold cigarettes without excise stamps. There were three million cigarettes.

It is reported that the cache was made in a cistern filled with bitumen. When they got into the tank, they found that the edges of the tank were separated from the other cargo space by plywood septums. There were hiding places with contraband cargo behind them.
