Protester In Brest: I Promised My Child That There Will Be No Factory, So I'm Here

Why do people go to the central square to protest against the battery producing factory.

On Sunday, March 18, those protesting against the building of a battery producing factory gathered in Lenin Square in Brest to "feed the pigeons" once again. This way the Brest residents protest against the construction of a harmful production in the sanitary zone of Brest, Brestskaya Vesna informs.

Feeding pigeons ended with the song "To Live", which the Brest residents specially wrote the day before and made a video clip so that the authorities feel responsible for their actions.

On the square you could listen to the opinion of the Brest dwellers:

"They (the authorities) say they did not expect that there are so many literate people in Brest who can wipe their [authorities'] nose."

"My daughter comes from the kindergarten and tells me about a harmful plant which makes children fall ill. I promised my child that there will be no factory, so I'm here."

"I was at a 5-hour meeting in the Regional Executive Committee on Friday, they did not answer a single question!"

It is obvious that despite the promises of the authorities to tackle the issue, no one believes them and no one is going to take a watchful eye off them.

In conclusion, the Brest residents chanted "No to the plant!"
